Gary Herbert

Republican Gary Herbert, the founder of a real estate brokerage firm, became governor a year ago when Jon Huntsman resigned to serve as ambassador to China. He was lieutenant governor from 2005-09. Herbert was a member of the Utah County Commission for 14 years starting in 1990.

Gary Herbert Wednesday at East Bay Golf Course as part of the opening festivities for the 74th Provo Open. I cornered the governor because I was part of his scramble foursome.
