The record of visitors also looks like a red carpet list of celebrities and Hollywood movie stars. Remember how social conservatives said they would bolt the Republican party if Rudy Giuliani was the GOP nominee? Well, The Hill reports that some of the more level-headed conservatives such as Gary Bauer and Tony Perkins are backtracking from that vow. Speaking to reporters at a breakfast sponsored by The Christian Science Monitor in advance of next week's Values Voter Summit, Bauer and Perkins backed away from earlier threats that Christian conservatives would consider a third-party bid if a pro-abortion rights candidate wins the GOP nomination.
