On Eve of Reunification Anniversary, German Video Game Stirs Emotions
By Dana Chivvis - AOL News(Oct. 1) -- The 20th anniversary of German reunification will be celebrated on Sunday, but not with the release of a video game where players in the role of border guards shoot East Germans trying to escape to the West, as was originally planned. The game, called "1,378 (km)" -- a reference to the length of the former border between East and West Germany -- was designed by 23-year-old media art student Jens Stober, who said he intended it as a history lesson for young Germans, according to Der Spiegel. In the game, players can choose to be an escapee making a run for it or a border guard ...
