Moran Opens up Lead Over Tiahrt for GOP Senate Nod in Kansas

Rep. Jerry Moran has taken a 42 percent to 32 percent lead over Rep. Todd Tiahrt in their battle over who will be the Republican nominee in Kansas for the seat of GOP Sen. Sam Brownback who is running for governor, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted March 26-28. A third candidate in the race gets 5 percent and 21 percent are undecided. The margin of error is 4.4 points. Moran has a 42 percent to 34 percent lead among self-described conservatives (60 percent of the sample) with 19 percent undecided. Moran Slightly Widens Lead Over Tiahrt in Race for Kansas GOP Senate Nod

Rep. Jerry Moran is leading Rep. Todd Tiahrt for the GOP nomination to succeed Kansas Republican Sen. Sam Brownback, besting him 40 percent to 33 percent with 27 percent undecided, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted Jan. 29-31. The margin of error is 4.4 points. Brownback is running for governor. SurveyUSA says that's a modest bump upwards for Moran since its last poll. The race for the Republican nod in Kansas to succeed retiring Sen. Sam Brownback is knotted up, with seven-term Rep. Jerry Moran leading eight-term Rep. Todd Tiahrt 37 percent to 34 percent with 29 percent undecided, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted Dec. 4-6. The margin of error is 4.6 points.
