By Tom Diemer - Politics DailyThe former chairman of the Florida Republican Party, Jim Greer, was arrested Wednesday and charged with grand theft and money laundering in connection with an alleged scheme to siphon money from the party through a shell company. Using the fundraising firm Victory Strategies as a front, Greer took at least $100,000 from the GOP for his personal expenses, state prosecutor William Shepherd said at a news conference in Orlando. Through a secretive contract with the Florida GOP, the company, Victory Strategies, was paid a 10 percent commission on major donor contributions to the party, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
