By Tom Diemer - Politics DailyThe White House acknowledged Thursday that a top aide talked with Colorado Senate hopeful Andrew Romanoff about working for the Obama administration if he abandoned his Democratic primary campaign against Sen. Michael Bennet, the president's preferred candidate. Romanoff, the former Colorado House speaker, said Wednesday that Obama's deputy chief of staff, Jim Messina, tried to persuade him last September to drop out of the race against Bennet, who was appointed to fill a vacancy that opened when Ken Salazar became secretary of the interior.
