The admiral in charge of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), William Fallon, abruptly resigned today in what could be a sign of growing tension between the military's top ranks and the White House. U.S. Central Command is charged with overseeing military activities and planning in the Middle East and Central Asia. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has a warning for the Democratic presidential candidates: don't pull out from Iraq too fast.
