Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily!Lady Gaga may have shocked the world recently when she appeared in public with what looked like horns sticking out of her face and shoulders, but she's actually just horning in on an existing -- and, so far, very underground -- trend. Gaga recently appeared in Harper's Bazaar magazine looking as if she had horns sticking out of her face. Although she said the so-called horns were her real bones, and she had merely been "waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe" who she truly is, some experts are skeptical. New York plastic surgeon Dr. Barry M. Weintraub has analyzed pictures of ...

Sen. Frank Lautenberg may be 86, but he can still rock. The New Jersey Democrat, who isn't up for re-election this year, is holding a fundraiser in Washington on Sept. 7 that may leave some contributors (or more likely their kids) gaga. No, it's not the five-term lawmaker who's ginning up the excitement. That would be Lady Gaga, who brings her Monster Ball Tour to Verizon Center that night. For $2,500 a person for PACs and $2,400 for individuals, donors can join Lautenberg in a skybox at the event, according to The Washington Post. The glam-pop star (real name: Stefani Joanne Angelina ...
Will Sarah Palin run for president in 2012? That's probably the question I hear most from non-politicos. And members of the politerati are constantly considering it -- as they pine for a Palin presidential campaign. After all, for political journalists, a Palin bid would be manna from heaven: drama, personality, ideological debate, cultural warfare, and a flood of website traffic. So this week, the political media was atwitter about the latest filings that showed Palin's political action committee had raised nearly a million George Washingtons (that is, $865,815) in the second quarter of this ...
Last week, Suzi wrote about Wonder Woman's newest sartorial incarnation. Missing the super-heroine's old crime-fighting uniform, which had all the practical function of something from Frederick's of Hollywood, my WomanUp colleague wrote that the golden-lasso twirler was an American icon not to be messed with or made over. See, the thing is, big-girl panties mean something to first-wave feminists like Gloria Steinem, who said Wonder Woman's new millennium get-up (liquid jeggings, cropped military jacket and patriotic corset) "gives us the idea that only pants can be powerful." But for a ...
My congressman tweeted about Lady Gaga's new video last week, calling it "AMAZING." Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the queen of glam. But if I want advice on hot new videos, well, I'm kinda thinking it should be from someone other than my congressman, Rep. Jared Polis, (D-Colo.) ...
The Dugout Spring Training 2010 closes out the NL West today with the Arizona Diamondbacks, who used to only show up in Dugouts when I wanted to make a joke about how Randy Johnson looked like Dr. Satan from House of 1,000 Corpses. The new look Diamondbacks are something to keep an eye on... they're locking down important young talent, focusing on short and long term goals toward permanently improving the team, and, most importantly, they are holding auditions later this month for anyone who wants to sing the National Anthem. If I lived in Arizona, I would do three things: 1) Go to ...
(Feb. 1) - The 52nd annual Grammy Awards belonged to the ladies. While Taylor Swift took home album of the year and three other awards, the night's biggest winner was actually the mighty Beyonce. ...
(Jan. 6) – If you thought unicycle competitions were for circus clowns, you haven't seen the daredevils at the Unicorn Street Unicycle World Championship. Christian Huriwai of New Zealand beat out Adrien Delecroix of France to earn the title as the world's top one-wheel wonder in a contest that had the competitors scaling walls, racing across ledges, bounding up stairs and bouncing off handrails and other urban obstacles. Huriwai's victory delighted the crowd at Wellington. ...
Google on Tuesday released the top searches within the United States for 2009; the results are surprising and interesting. The top Google searches for senators show that people are more interested in reading about Democrats than Republicans -- only Chuck Grassley of Iowa at No. 9 made the list for the GOP. And it also shows that people are doing more searches for senators with key roles in legislation than for senators caught up in scandals. No surprise, Ted Kennedy tops the Senate Google searches, as he died this year. Second on the Senate list is Nelson, but the Google people don't tell us ...
