Speaking to a parliamentary committee, spy chief Yuval Diskin argued against a proposal, floated in parliament and abroad, that Gaza-bound ships be inspected in Cyprus or another international port. "It would be a huge security breach, even if ships are inspected along the way in international ports en route to Gaza," Diskin said. Since Israel's raid on a Turkish-flagged ship last month that left nine activists dead there has been ...
BERLIN (June 14) -- In another twist in the alleged involvement of Israel's Mossad spy service in the killing of a Hamas leader, Germany is demanding extradition of Uri Brodsky, a suspected Mossad agent who is being held in Poland. German prosecutors have confirmed that they issued a European arrest warrant for Brodsky on accusations of espionage. Brodsky was arrested June 4 when he arrived on an international flight at the Warsaw airport. Israel is believed to have urged Poland to quietly turn Brodsky over to it rather than to the Germans. "The prosecutor's office will request extradition ...

In both cases the original passports belonged to people living in Israel. "These are not the actions of a friend," Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith told Parliament today, according to several media reports. "No ...

And while Israel has not confirmed or denied involvement, everyone -- even Israel's friends -- suspects its intelligence service, Mossad, masterminded and carried out the hit. The Mossad has conducted plenty of assassinations in the past. And so, too, have other countries. The only thing surprising about the latest hit is how quickly the details of the operation became public -- thanks to Dubai's release of the surveillance footage and (forged) passport ...
British and Israeli relations have been strained this week over the duplication of six British passports for use in the assassination of a senior Hamas official in Dubai. The controversy has once again embroiled the British government in charges that it has been slow to respond to a major international event involving its citizens. ...
