Despite Anti-Census Rhetoric, Bachmann's District Returning Forms at High Rate

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has been outspoken in her opposition to the U.S. Census, calling the national head count government intrusion and connecting it to ACORN and the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. Despite her rhetoric, Minnesota and Bachmann's district in particular lead the nation in terms of national Census participation. Minnesota -- along with South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Indiana -- ranks in the top five for forms returned so far, according to The City Pages in Minneapolis-St. Paul. The counties making up Bachmann's district have had exceptionally ...

The Top 15 Winners and Losers of 2009

WINNERS LOSERS 1. Barack Obama: Inaugurated as the first African- American president in U.S. history, he inherited two wars, the Great Recession, a Democratic Congress with a pent-up agenda, a liberal base with a litany of unrealistic demands, and a hostile Republican Party – and managed to keep his head above water and his famous cool. 1. As the year-old images continued to roll, Jarrett added, "Some of the pictures [are] just coming to us. ... The lines earlier had formed this morning." Courtesy of the Web ...

Evil Mr. Rogers Fox News Clip Makes Rounds of Humorless Liberals

Markos Moulitsas tweeted a story about Fox News' "F'ing Crazy" assertion that Mr. Rogers is evil. That is a crazy thing to say. I checked it out, and this is the hot story on Digg! right now. (Yes, I'm jealous.)There's a corresponding story at Daily Kos, too, also decrying Fox's insanity at making the claim that Mr' Rogers is evil. Tough to argue with. There are 2 problems with this story. First, the YouTube clip is from December. Isn't there a statute of limitations on this stuff?Secondly, there's the clip itself. I want to start by saying that I am as liberal as it gets. I had my kids form a ...
