Gary McDowell
Democrat Gary McDowell was elected to the state House in 2004 after retiring as a United Parcel Service driver. He also served on the Chippewa County Board of Commissioners for 22 years. McDowell is treasurer of his family's hay farming and distribution company.
Glenn Wilson
Independent Glenn Wilson is a self-funded, tea party-backed political newcomer who jumped into the race after Michigan's Aug. 3 primary election. He made his fortune as a telecommunications executive whose company brought broadband Internet access to much of Northern Michigan.
