Roy Blunt Hits 50 Percent Mark in Missouri Senate Race

Seven-term Republican Rep. Roy Blunt has slightly increased his lead over Democrat Robin Carnahan, Missouri's Secretary of State in their race to win the seat of GOP Sen. Kit Bond who is retiring, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted May 3. Blunt has now reached the 50 percent mark while Carnahan's support is at 42 percent, with 4 percent preferring another candidate and 4 percent undecided. The margin of error is 4.5 points. GOP's Blunt Leads Democrat Carnahan in Missouri Senate Race

Republican Rep. Roy Blunt is leading Democrat Robin Carnahan, Missouri's Secretary of State, by 45 percent to 41 percent with 13 percent undecided, according to a Public Policy Polling survey conduced March 27-28. The margin of error is 4.4 points. Blunt has a challenger, state Sen. Chuck Purgason,in the August 3 GOP primary and if he were to get the nomination, Carnahan is leading him 42 percent to 38 percent with 19 percent undecided. Seven-term Republican Rep. Roy Blunt has put a little distance between himself and Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, the Democrat, in their race to fill the seat of retiring GOP Sen. Kit Bond, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted Jan. 19. Blunt leads Carnahan 49 percent to 43 percent with 3 percent preferring some other candidate and 5 percent undecided.
