Neil Abercrombie

Democrat Neil Abercrombie, a business consultant, won a special election to serve in the House from 1986-88. He was a member of the Honolulu City Council from 1988 until 1990, when he was elected again to Congress. He stepped down in May to run for governor. Abercrombie also was a state senator from 1979-86 and state representative from 1975-79.
