Ted Strickland Has Shaky Lead Over John Kasich in Ohio Governor Race

Ohio's Democratic governor, Ted Strickland, is holding on to the lead he had last month over former Republican Rep. John Kasich, running ahead of Kasich by 44 percent to 38 percent with 17 percent undecided, according to a Quinnipiac University poll conducted April 21-26. But the poll numbers suggest some causes of concern for him. Last November, the two had been tied at 40 percent each, but in February and March, Strickland led by five points. John Kasich, leading him 45 percent to 40 percent with 15 percent undecided, according to a Daily Kos/Research 2000 survey conducted April 5-7. The margin of error is 4 points. Ohio's Democratic governor, Ted Strickland, lately has been making gains in his bid for re-election after trailing former Rep. John Kasich in a series of polls. In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, conducted March 30, he is in a statistical tie with the Republican. After several different polls showed Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland running behind in his bid for re-election, a Quinnipiac University survey conducted Feb. 16-21 shows him now ahead of former Rep.
