Obama's Oval Office Makeover Feels Like 'Den'; No Taxpayer Money Was Spent

It is arguably the world's most famous office, but it's doubtful many viewers of President Obama's address to the nation Tuesday night noticed the makeover the West Wing room got while the president was on vacation. The Oval Office has been redecorated. It's still round. But in some ways, it looks more like a well-appointed den than a formal place where some of the most powerful people in the world meet. The New York Times put it this way: "The look is angular and modern -- it evokes the feel of a den -- and tends toward natural hues of brown and taupe, than the gold and yellow tones favored ...

Number four on the list featured an incident where President Bush was leaving a press conference and found the door that he tried to leave through locked. Letterman's ...

Decor You Can Believe In?

I saw the picture to the left today on the Christian Science Monitor website today and I said, "wait a minute.....isn't that W's rug???"That same rug that President Bush was so proud of. I had started thinking that when asked during the legacy tour what his proudest moment was in his presidency, he might just name that rug.Designed by Laura Bush prior to the start of Bush's first term. the former president was fond of bragging about it to everyone from school kids to heads-of-state. Hell, at one point he even used it as metaphor for what he was trying to do while in office. So, my interest ...
