No Clear Favorite Yet in Democratic Field of S.C. Governor Hopefuls
By Bruce Drake - Politics DailyWhile the GOP primary race for South Carolina governor has a frontrunner (although with many voters still undecided), the outlook is less clear for the Democratic field with the top two candidates tied and a third within the margin of error, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted March 3. State Sen. Vincent Sheheen and Superintendent of Education Jim Rex are even at 16 percent each with state Sen. Robert Ford at 12 percent. Lawyer Dwight Drake, who has dropped out, has 5 percent while 15 percent prefer some other candidtae and 37 percent are undecided. The margin of error is 5 ...

That has created an open field in both parties of candidates seeking the job. But right now the common denominator for most is that they are not well-known, and the one who is best-known -- Lt. Gov.
