Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily!By more than double, it turns out. So says Beliefnet's "God-o-Meter." Obama has a God-o-meter reading of 7, to McCain's 3. Beliefnet interviewed evangelical PR guru Mark DeMoss about McCain's appeal to evangelical voters, and he offered this anecdotal support for McCain's near-flatline with the Yahweh set: I am surprised by how little I've seen or read in conservative circles about McCain since February. I don't think I've gotten one email or letter or phone call from anybody in America in the last four months saying anything about this election or urging that we unite behind John McCain and ...
Another day, another nutjob preacher denounced on the campaign trail. You might have thought that after Jeremiah Wright, John Hagee, and Rod Parsley, we'd be granted a YouTube respite from these not-so-great-moments-in-pulpitry. And you'd be wrong. Denise Williams has already detailed the case of John Hagee, the man who has called Catholicism "a cult," and has likened it to "the Great Whore" in Revelation 17. Yesterday, Mother Jones published a bit on another televangelist whose support McCain actively courted, and who has since spoken at McCain rallies. Meet Ohio Minister Rod Parsley. Among the planks in his pious platform is the armed eradication of Islam. Not just it's radical ...
