Deval Patrick may be pulling himself out of his political tailspin, widening his margin over two of his challengers, Republican Charlie Baker and Democrat-turned-independent Tim Cahill, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted May 10. Patrick leads Baker, a former health insurance executive who won the GOP nomination last month, by 45 percent to 31 percent with Cahill, the state's treasurer, fading to 14 percent, with 10 percent undecided. In a race against former health care executive Charlie Baker, one of the contenders for the GOP nomination, and state Treasurer Tim Cahill, a longtime Democrat running as an independent, Patrick leads with 35 percent followed by Baker at 27 percent and Cahill at 23 percent, with 15 percent undecided.
