Washington Post to Close Bureaus in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles
By David Sessions - Politics DailyThe Washington Post will close its bureaus in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles as a cost-saving measure, the Washington CityPaper reports. Reporters from the three bureaus will not lose their jobs, but can relocate to the Post headquarters to help the paper intensify its Washington coverage. Three news aides, however, will be laid off. A memo from Post management obtained by the CityPaper said: Today we have informed our news colleagues in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles that we are closing the offices in those cities, effective Dec. 31.
