Cee Lo Green, Muppets and Gwyneth Paltrow: Weirdest Grammy Mashup Ever? [VIDEOS]

It's a crazy, mixed-up world. Following what has become a Grammy Awards tradition, the show's producers announced this year's mashups in which artists spanning different genres and generations will share the stage for one-of-a-kind performances. While the collaborations can sometimes result in inspired moments, as was the case when Lady Gaga and Elton John teamed up at the 2010 Grammys, just as often they disappoint (see the show's cringe-worthy all-star tribute to Sly Stone). This year, the mashups include some fairly intuitive pairings: Dr. Dre will reunite with Eminem, and Bob Dylan will ...

Aretha Franklin Reportedly Has Pancreatic Cancer: 4 Facts About the Disease

(Dec. 9) -- "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin is battling cancer but doing "OK," a relative told FOX 2 News in Detroit. Although the type of cancer hasn't been officially confirmed, media reports say the 68-year-old diva has been diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer. It's "one of the deadliest and most painful types of cancer," with 95 percent of patients dying within five years of diagnosis, according to a 2007 report in The New York Times. It hasn't been an easy year for Franklin. In August, she was forced to cancel two concert appearances after breaking her ribs in a fall; last ...

Aretha Franklin Expected to Leave Hospital Soon

DETROIT (Dec. 9) - Aretha Franklin's cousin says the ailing legendary singer is "doing better than doctors expected" and expects to be released from the hospital this weekend. Brenda Corbett tells the Detroit Free Press for a Thursday story that Franklin "has a long life in front of her and will be back in concert, on stage, late spring or early summer." Franklin announced last week that she had undergone a surgical procedure. Neither she nor her publicist have said what is ailing the 68-year-old Queen of Soul. The Rev. Jesse Jackson told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he visited ...

Condoleezza Rice Performs With Queen of Soul

PHILADELPHIA (July 28) -- Condoleezza Rice is no stranger to the whims of royalty. So when the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin, decided the two should get together to play a song or two for charity, it was decreed. The former U.S. secretary of state and Franklin took the stage Tuesday evening at Philadelphia's Mann Music Center in a rare duet for Rice, the classically trained pianist, and Franklin, the divalicious voice of a generation. Their aim was to raise money for urban children and awareness for music and the arts. Jeff Fusco, Getty Images Condoleezza Rice and Aretha Franklin ...

Hang Out With Oprah for a Good Cause

The economy may be tight, but when a worthy cause like the nonprofit Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights has a charity auction, you do what you can. Like the Sidwell Friends School auction last month, where one happy donor making a contribution to the private school's scholarship fund was able to score autographed magazine covers of the President and First Lady for under $4000, this auction's items are laden with prestige and star power. Now through May 28, donors can "bid on over 125 one of a kind celebrity experiences to support human rights!" Lot items offer high power ...
