Milan's chief prosecutor, Edmondo Bruti Liberati, said in a statement that Berlusconi should head to the dock straight away and not be granted a preliminary hearing because of the "obviousness of the evidence" against him, Britain's Guardian reported. On Wednesday, Italian prosecutors requested that the prime minister be put on trial immediately for sex-related offenses that carry a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.
