Regardless of the immediate reasons for his departure, I think it is clear the ethos that fueled Olbermann's meteoric rise has come and gone. This happens to musicians (think Warrant in the time of Nirvana) and actors (think Reagan in the era of Brando). I think it can happen to talkers, too. Times change and audiences are fickle.
