By Katie Drummond - AOL News(Aug. 9) -- No matter the number on the scale, a bigger waist significantly increases one's risk of death from a myriad of causes, including respiratory disease and cardiovascular conditions. That's the sobering reminder from a major new study that tracked more than 100,000 American adults and is published today in the Archives of Internal Medicine. A team of researchers with the American Cancer Society followed 48,500 men and 56,343 women, all of them older than 55.
