(Oct. 5) -- Two French students have made a film of themselves strutting Parisian streets wearing Muslim face veils and hot pants, to protest France's recent burqa ban. The 2-minute film is titled "Niqabitch" -- a play on the name of the full Muslim face veil, the niqab. It's gone viral on the Internet, with tens of thousands of viewers on French websites and YouTube. France's Senate voted last month to ban anyone in public from wearing burqas, niqabs and any other veils that cover the full face. Eiffel Tower Reopens After Bomb Threat, Evacuation
By Lauren Frayer - AOL News(Sept. 15) -- The Eiffel Tower has reopened for tourists today after some 2,000 people were evacuated from around the Paris landmark because of a bomb threat from an anonymous caller. Explosives experts scoured the tower and Champs de Mars park overnight but found nothing suspicious. No additional security measures are in place today, several news outlets reported. The threat came in a phone call just after dark Tuesday night to a private company that runs security at the tower. The final tally was 246 in favor of enacting the new law, and one legislator voting against it. In July, the National Assembly voted 335-1 to pass the law, which bears the formal name "Forbidding the Concealing of the Face in the Public Space."
