Tom DeLay Money-Laundering Case Going to Trial in Texas

Former Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas) has been demanding a trial on his money-laundering indictment since 2005, and on Tuesday a Texas judge granted his wish. At a pre-trial hearing in Austin, Senior Judge Pat Priest said the trial would go forward but he did not set a start date, The Associated Press reported. "I've been asking for a trial now for five years. Finally I'm getting a trial," DeLay, 63, told reporters outside the courtroom. On Wednesday, DeLay's attorneys will ask the judge to move the trial to the former House majority leader's home county near Houston, where they say he's more ...

On Tuesday Massachusetts voters rebelled against special interests, Wall Street bailouts, and one-party rule by vaulting Republican Scott Brown into the Senate. Thursday morning the Supreme Court, by an ideologically predictable 5-to-4 ...

John Edwards Expected to Admit He Fathered Rielle Hunter's Baby, TV Station Reports

John Edwards is expected to publicly admit he is the father of the daughter of his former mistress, Rielle Hunter, sources told North Carolina's WRAL News on Thursday. The report followed a story in the National Enquirer that a DNA test proves Edwards' paternity of 18-month-old Frances. The National Enquirer, which broke the original story about the extramarital affair between Edwards and Hunter, cited "multiple sources" in reporting that Edward took a secret DNA test for paternity. The former senator and presidential candidate has previously denied that he is the baby's father; his wife ...
