Never more actor impressive than as Martha in Virginia Woolf," Rolling Stone film critic Peter Travers wrote after the breaking news that the beloved star of Hollywood's golden age had died this morning. Taylor, remembered for Academy Award-winning performances, her many marriages and her generous contributions to the fight against AIDS, passed away from congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in California. It's a major week for celebrity hair news. Last night Justin Bieber announced via Twitter that he's trimmed his trademark mop-topped 'do, writing, "Yeah so it's true...I got a lil haircut...I like it...and we are giving all the hair cut to CHARITY to auction." (Perhaps now that it's shorter, he won't have to spend $750 per trim.) Meanwhile, John Travolta -- seen in some sort of sling-like contraption in Hawaii -- was caught by paparazzi without his toupee (view the alleged photo here). The Daily Mail, which has been on the Travolta hair beat for several years, wrote in 2010 that photos of ...
Celebrities entertain and enlighten us about life and love on a collective basis, and now, in some special cases, they're helping their fans find love. That's the premise of "The Fix-Up Show," a weekly stage show in Los Angeles in which singles get a chance to be paired up with their potential future mates by two of their friends and a random celebrity. According to host/creator J. Keith van Straaten, "The Fix-Up Show" started up in New York last summer and moved to Los Angeles. Celebrities who've helped make matches include comedian Margaret Cho, former "Brady Bunch" cast member Eve Plumb, ...
In the 1980s, former teen sensations Debbie Gibson and Tiffany constantly battled each other on the pop charts. Now, as grown women, the singers are rehashing their rivalry by flinging fists at each other's faces -- on television, that is. Calm down. It's not for some weird episode of "The Jerry Springer Show" or another one of those strange celebrity boxing matches. This girl fight is coming to fans courtesy of a ridiculously campy made-for-TV movie. On Jan. 29, at exactly 9 p.m., the '80s pop princesses will reunite on the small screen for "Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid," an original action ...
It's the romance of the century. OK, maybe not. Tattoo artist/reality star Kat Von D and tattooed motorcycle dude Jesse James have announced their engagement just six months after revealing their relationship -- and just seven months after James' contentious divorce from Sandra Bullock became final. In her previous relationship, Von D dated Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx, who's 24 years her senior. It will be the fourth marriage for James, whose breakup with Bullock became a tabloid scandal after several women claimed he'd had affairs with them. Naturally, Twitter users have had some choice ...

(Dec. 13) -- A former celebrity chef was sentenced to nine years in prison today after he pleaded no contest to trying to hire two homeless men to kill his wife. Juan Carlos Cruz, who starred on the Food Network show "Calorie Commando," was once known for his low-calorie recipes. But the former pastry chef made headlines in May when a homeless man in Santa Monica, Calif., told police Cruz approached him and another homeless man and offered to pay them $500 if he would kill Jennifer Campbell, his wife and high school sweetheart. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Chester Horn said Cruz, ...
