In a match-up of the two frontrunners for their parties' Senate nominations in Illinois, Democrat Alexi Giannoulis, the state treasurer, leads Republican Rep. Mark Kirk, 42 percent to 34 percent with 24 percent undecided, according to a Public Policy Polling survey conducted Jan. 22-25. A PPP poll last spring had Giannoulis and Kirk tied.
