Reports abounded last week of a "supermoon" -- a moment when the moon comes 14 percent closer to the Earth than average, which we're told occurs once every 18 years. People were quick to post photos of the rare occasion, though it should be noted that a telephoto lens can make the moon look huge at any time of year. Chris Brown broke a window in a violent tantrum on Tuesday after being questioned about the 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown later tweeted: "I'm so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we ...

The father of Jordan Brown, a Pennsylvania boy who was 11 years old when he was charged in the slaying of his father's pregnant fiancee, is reportedly happy that a state Superior Court panel has ordered a new hearing to determine whether his son should be tried as an adult. "He is absolutely thrilled -- elated," Dan Dailey, a trustee of the Jordan Brown Trust Fund, told AOL News. "This is the first positive thing that has happened in the case in two years." Brown, now 13, has been charged as an adult in the Feb. 20, 2009, shooting death of 26-year-old Kenzie Marie Houk, who was 8-1/2 months ...
Each week, FanHouse takes a look at what's going on in college hockey. From their first goal of the tournament, Team USA's World Junior entry was keyed by players who are plying their craft in college hockey. That first goal was a wicked slapshot from the center point by Minnesota Duluth freshman defenseman Justin Faulk (pictured), giving the U.S. a 1-0 lead over Finland. Minnesota freshman Nick Bjugstad scored the overtime winner in that game on Dec. 26, then he potted the eventual game-winner in the bronze-medal win over Sweden on Jan. 5. Boston College sophomore Chris Kreider scored twice ...
This year marks the 35th annual IIHF World Junior Championship (the tournament has been held since 1974, but didn't become officially sanctioned by the IIHF until 1977). In the previous 34, the United States has won just six medals, and half of those have come since 2004. Only twice has Team USA skated away with the gold medal. The first time was in 2004, and while they hosted the 2005 tournament, that event featured guys like Evgeni Malkin, Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, Patrice Bergeron, and more, and Team USA was simply overmatched, failing to medal. This time around, the United States is ...
Chris Johnson wants the ball more. And while that's probably true of any NFL running back, Johnson -- a third-year veteran who rushed for more than 2,000 yards last season -- said a lack of carries is a big reason for the Tennessee Titans' recent lack of a running offense. That lack of carries, he said, is a result of lack of execution. "We are just not running it," John Glennon and Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reported Johnson saying this week. "It is easy for a defensive coordinator to stop the run when you are running the ball seven times. We need to stay on the field and execute ...

Last weekend, WBO welterweight (147 pounds) Manny Pacquiao dominated ex-titlist Antonio Margarito on the way to earning the WBC junior middleweight (154 pounds) title, his eighth crown over as many different weight classes, and his 13th straight victory with eight knockouts during that run -- all while overcoming a 17-pound weight disadvantage. Now, celebrities such as Kevin Dillion want to see Pacquiao against Floyd Mayweather. FanHouse spoke to Dillon, as ...

An armed convoy rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead after 2 a.m. local time this morning. Moat had been on the lam for a week, after allegedly shooting three people, ...
