Democrat Dan Malloy is a former prosecutor who served as mayor of Stamford from 1995-2009. He ran unsuccessfully for governor against Republican Jodi Rell four years ago. Before entering politics, he was a prosecutor in Brooklyn and a partner in a Stamford law firm.
