Dave Heineman

Republican Dave Heineman became governor in 2005, replacing Mike Johanns, who resigned to be President Bush's secretary of Agriculture. Heineman won a full-four-year term in 2006. He served as state treasurer from 1994-2001 and lieutenant governor from 2001-05.
