Reince Priebus Taps Ed Gillespie and Nick Ayers to Lead RNC Transition
By Christopher Weber - Politics DailyEd Gillespie and Nick Ayers, two veteran GOP operatives, have been tapped to lead the Republican National Committee's transition to new leadership. Reince Priebus, who unseated Michael Steele as head of the RNC last week, announced Wednesday that Gillespie was named transition chairman and Ayers will serve as transition director, The New York Times reported. Gillespie once held the job Priebus won on Friday. He was elected RNC chairman in 2003 and went on to serve as a counselor to President George W. Bush.
