By Mara Gay - AOL News(Dec. 13) -- A former celebrity chef was sentenced to nine years in prison today after he pleaded no contest to trying to hire two homeless men to kill his wife. Juan Carlos Cruz, who starred on the Food Network show "Calorie Commando," was once known for his low-calorie recipes. But the former pastry chef made headlines in May when a homeless man in Santa Monica, Calif., told police Cruz approached him and another homeless man and offered to pay them $500 if he would kill Jennifer Campbell, his wife and high school sweetheart.
