Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin Aren't Palling Around at Fox

Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin Aren't Palling Around at Fox

Do I know you? They are colleagues at Fox News and might also share a bond as former Republican governors, but Mike Huckabee says he hasn't encountered Sarah Palin during the time both have worked at the cable network over the past year or so. "I don't think I've ever bumped into Sarah Palin ever at Fox," Huckabee told CNN's John King. (Of course, many of Palin's appearances on the channel are via satellite from her home in Alaska.) Not only are they apparently not TV buddies, Huckabee and Palin could be competing for the same bloc of socially conservative voters if they both decide to ...

Glenn Beck vs. Google: It's On [VIDEO]

Glenn Beck vs. Google: It's On [VIDEO]

Glenn Beck just ruined his chance of scoring a birthday Google doodle. The conservative commentator instead decided to pick a fight with the all-mighty search engine, which he accuses of "bizarrely inserting" itself into the story of the Egyptian revolution. "May I recommend if you are doing your own homework, don't do a Google search. Seems to me that Google is pretty deeply in bed with the government," Beck told his audience. Beck listed Google's close ties to the U.S. government, support for "hardcore leftists" and disregard for user privacy as three reasons he's skeptical of the ...

Glenn Beck: Should Fox Toss Him Out of the Coop?

Glenn Beck: Should Fox Toss Him Out of the Coop?

Glenn Beck is walking toward a cliff -- or running, or skipping. The question is, will Fox News go flying over the edge with him, or give him a push? For years, Beck has pitched various conspiracy theories with a rather predictable thrust: The left is out to take over and/or destroy the United States. (The relationship between assuming control of the country and scheming its decimation has always been a bit fuzzy.) And his targets have been sinister lefty outfits that are not household names: the Tides Foundation, ACORN, and others. As long as Beck stuck to this classic tale -- secret commies ...

Protecting the Palin Brand: Sarah and Bristol Go for Trademark Status

Protecting the Palin Brand: Sarah and Bristol Go for Trademark Status

Sarah Palin has become an industry. The former Alaskan governor has had books deals, starred in a reality television show and set up a political PAC that raised $3.5 million last year. Through midterm election endorsements, broadcast on her 2.7 million-fan Facebook page or via her 400,000 follower Twitter feed, Palin has cemented alliances to new GOP governors such as South Carolina's Nikki Haley and various members of Congress. But Palin is more than just a former mayor, governor, vice presidential candidate and political force. She has catapulted over most politicians to a status of ...

Palin on Obama's 'Winning the Future': WTF Is a 'Spot On' Abbreviation

Sarah Palin says watching President Obama's State of the Union address was a "WTF" moment, in more ways than one. "His theme last night was WTF -- 'winning the future,' " she told Greta Van Susteren Wednesday on Fox News Channel's "On the Record." "I thought, okay, that acronym -- spot on. There were a lot of WTF moments throughout that speech." She called the president "disconnected," especially as reflected by his comments on jobs and the deficit. "That was a tough speech to sit through and try to stomach, because the president is so off in his ideas. . . . He believes government will ...

PBS the Most Trusted News Outlet, Fox the Most Distrusted, Poll Finds

PBS the Most Trusted News Outlet, Fox the Most Distrusted, Poll Finds

What a difference a year can make. According to a new Public Policy Polling survey, a majority of Americans say they don't trust Fox News, just a year after the same poll found that the conservative-leaning network was the most trusted major outlet. This year, however, Americans surveyed said they trust PBS much more than Rupert Murdoch's cable outlet. Asked to rate a number of different news organizations, 50 percent of those polled said they trusted PBS as a news source, while just 30 percent said they did not. In contrast, Fox News had a much less favorable split, with 42 percent of ...

Chris Christie: 'I'm Not Arrogant Enough' to Run for President in 2012

Chris Christie: 'I'm Not Arrogant Enough' to Run for President in 2012

Some Republicans may have been emboldened by news that Chris Christie outperformed other potential GOP presidential contenders in a recent poll, but the New Jersey governor isn't among them. "I am not arrogant enough to believe that after one year as governor . . . that I am ready to be president of the United States," he told Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday." According to a Zogby poll released Jan. 3, Christie would beat President Obama 43 percent to 40 percent, a better showing than that of other, higher-profile Republicans who have said they are considering a run. Former Massachusetts ...

9/11 Health Bill: Who Deserves More Credit, Jon Stewart or Shep Smith?

Giving government health benefits to the 9/11 first responders may have seemed like a no-brainer to everyone from Barack Obama to Rudy Giuliani, but it took the efforts of two talking heads to push it through Congress. After months of debate, one compromise that included billions of dollars in benefits cuts and one extended act of public shaming for the opposition, the Senate unanimously passed a $4 billion bill giving health benefits to 9/11 workers today. In part, the public shaming of Republican members of Congress by Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and Fox News' Shepard Smith can be ...

Fox News Viewers Believe the Darndest Things, Study Finds

Fox News Viewers Believe the Darndest Things, Study Finds

(Dec. 17) -- Fair and balanced ... and factually incorrect? A newly released study out of the University of Maryland concludes that viewers of the Fox News Channel were "significantly more likely" to believe a host of factually incorrect information than viewers who watched other television news organizations. Fox is by no means the only media outlet guilty of spreading what the study considers misniformation, but the channel's viewers were found to believe incorrect views on matters of established fact in much higher percentages than those peple who got their news of the world ...
