Soon-to-be-departing NPR executive Ron Schiller is the latest victim of hidden-camera wielding conservative activist James O'Keefe. Schiller, who thought he was sitting down with two Muslim philanthropists and potential donors, was caught on film making choice statements, including "tea party people" are "seriously racist, racist people," and NPR "would be better off in the long run without federal funding," a statement directly opposing the organization's official position. You can watch the video, here: Schiller was actually planning his departure from NPR ...
This has been a year full of many memorable moments, including those some would probably like to forget. Politicians, world leaders and TV hosts have all found themselves in moments so awkward, Kanye West would feel uncomfortable. And the sad joke is, yes, folks, it's all on the Internet. Here are my favorite 2010 clips from around the world. 1. Australia's Next Top Model announces wrong winner. Anyone got a time machine? Yes, at the end of a long season, the hostess, Sarah Murdoch, announced the wrong name for 2010's winner of Australia's Next Top Model. This clip demonstrates how not one, ...
(Sept. 22) -- Because the vice president commits the occasional verbal gaffe, does that make it alright for anyone in the Democratic party to do so? That's the excuse Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern offered on behalf of himself, at least, after he referred to tea partiers and opponents of the Obama health care reform plan as "f---ers," at a 2010 midterm elections campaign event in Ohio earlier today. "If your kids are going to graduate from college, now he or she gets health care, your heath care, while he or she looks for a new job," Redfern said. "It's in the very base terms ...
(July 13) -- Sometimes, news organizations screw up. And boy, is it ever wonderful to catch them. Most organizations will pre-write articles about major events -- presidential elections, obituaries for famous people who are near death's door and, of course, the outcome of major sporting events, like the World Cup's championship game. Unless you've been under a rock the past few days, you know that Spain beat Netherlands 1-0 in overtime to win the coveted trophy. Of course, every news organization had articles for either team's possible victory. Too bad for CBS News that somebody over there ...
New York PostThe $328,835 snapshots of an Air Force One backup plane buzzing lower Manhattan last week will not be shown to the public, the White House said yesterday....The sole purpose of the secret photo-op, which sent thousands of New Yorkers running for cover, was to take new publicity shots of the presidential jet over the city.So the administration freaks out New York, and we won't even get an updated stock photo of Air Force One around the Statue of Liberty! I guess we'll have to make do with the old stock photography. This is a sad day for America. The photos have not technically been ...
FOXNews.comWhite House Military Office Director Louis Caldera apologized for any panic caused by a flight mission and photo op that looked like Air Force One and fighter jets heading toward the New York City skyline Monday morning. Caldera said he approved the mission last week and that federal authorities took the proper steps to notify state and local authorities in New York and New Jersey.former homeland-security adviser Fran Townsend on CNN via The Corner: Fran Townsend, former White House homeland-security adviser, on CNN earlier: "I would call this felony stupidity. This is probably not ...

He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah," said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.Yeah, right. Watch the tape at 0:55. Is it just me or did the biggest boost in the last few weeks to the McCain campaign come when Biden declared flatly that the Obama presidency would precipitate an international crisis. The McCain campaign's secret plan? Kidnap Joe Biden and put him in front of a microphone.TIMEAnyone who has watched Joe Biden over 35 years in the Senate might have a little bit of trouble recognizing the guy who is running to be Barack Obama's Vice President. Oh, yes, he looks like the same fellow. But traveling with Biden during this campaign has sometimes been like reporting on a politician packaged in ...
In remarks that were either a stunning blunder or a shocking admission, Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden said today that a potential Obama administration would face an "international crisis to test the mettle of [Sen. Barack Obama]," within the first six months of taking office. But as if that wasn't bad enough, Biden continued his remarks, asking in advance for the assembled attendees at a Seattle fund raiser to rally to Obama's side when he inevitably doesn't handle the crisis very well at its outset."I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where [the crisis] ...
I think it's safe to say that Joe Biden did not have a very good day today... And that's on top of what wasn't a great day yesterday either! Keep in mind that John McCain and Barack Obama are fighting over Ohio and Pennsylvania, both states have lots of coal. Ohio's current Democratic governor came from coal country and was elected in part on a platform of support for the coal industry. So Biden up and says "No more coal plants in America." Ouch! Also, he seems to be taking that Obama comment about "getting in their faces" a little too seriously. And of course Republicans wasted no time ...
