What stories went viral last week? Here's a roundup from BuzzFeed. Reports abounded last week of a "supermoon" -- a moment when the moon comes 14 percent closer to the Earth than average, which we're told occurs once every 18 years. People were quick to post photos of the rare occasion, though it should be noted that a telephoto lens can make the moon look huge at any time of year. Chris Brown broke a window in a violent tantrum on Tuesday after being questioned about the 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown later tweeted: "I'm so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we ...
The mama grizzly's mad. In a weekend interview on Fox News, Sarah Palin finally responded to comedian Kathy Griffin, who has mined the Palin family for material since they landed on the national stage in 2008. Griffin is preparing for an upcoming guest spot on "Glee," in a role that's reportedly based loosely on Palin. The former governor's take? "She's a 50-year-old adult bully," Palin said, "kind of a has-been comedienne." Ouch. Watch: And, in case you missed any of the cracks, here's a brief rundown of Griffin's jokes at the Palin family's expense. 1. On owing Sarah Palin "a muffin ...

This morning, Punxsutawney Phil did what he does best. Still, as much as we enjoyed seeing the furry fellow at Gobbler's Knob, we're even bigger fans of the Bill Murray film "Groundhog Day." So in honor of Groundhog Day 2011, Surge Desk is testing your knowledge of the movie that's worth watching over and over and over and over and over. See how well you do. (Nov. 30) -- David Karofsky wants you to know he's not now and never was a bully who beats up gay Ohio high school kids in a twisted effort to cope with his own same-sex attractions. That's just the character named after him on the popular TV show "Glee" (8 p.m. tonight on Fox). The real Karofsky is actually a 40-year-old, straight, married father of two in Framingham, Mass. He also was childhood friends with Hollywood writer Brad Falchuk, creator of Fox's second-year musical dramedy in which students in Lima, Ohio, break out in song more often than they sit for exams. (Nov. 17) -- The Apple critics may be underwhelmed, but the people have spoken and they like The Beatles. Considering that the boys from Liverpool managed just fine for roughly 40 years without iTunes, it's no surprise that John, Paul, George and Ringo are dominating Apple's digital charts. The Beatles began their invasion of the iTunes song and album charts as soon as Steve Jobs and company officially announced the group's long-anticipated iTunes music store debut. As of early this afternoon, all 17 iTunes Beatles offerings -- 16 albums plus the one box set -- ranked among the top 50 on ...
(Nov. 9) -- If you get a kick out of super-wacky high fashion, then you'll probably love Israeli designer Kobi Levi's line of outrageously funny footwear. The freelance shoe designer from Tel Aviv is famous for creating uniquely artistic footwear that makes even the most sophisticated slipper look like a generic old pair of sneakers. Levi's risque designs include a pair of porn-inspired "XXX Pumps" shaped like a woman's private parts and another pump dubbed "Blow," shaped like a curvy lady down on her knees. But not all his works are adult-themed. He also offers sleek, strappy sandals that ...
