Attendant in JetBlue Meltdown Pleads Guilty

(Oct. 19) --The cheers of "folk hero" have subsided and the emergency slide is re-secured in the airplane. Now JetBlue's infamous flight attendant Steven Slater -- who made arguably the most epic if not ill-advised "I quit" exit in recent memory -- has pleaded guilty to one count of felony attempted criminal mischief and one count of misdemeanor criminal mischief. This day was coming the second Slater's feet touched the tarmac. Although Slater, who appeared in court today, will not spend time in prison, he is required to complete a yearlong mental health program and also attend substance ...

'Blago' Verdict: Instant Reactions

(Aug. 17) -- On Tuesday evening, it was "Blago" vs. the blogosphere. The former of course being ex-Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, who exited a federal courthouse in Chicago guilty on just one of the 24 counts filed against him (lying to federal investigators). It was a disappointing verdict for the prosecution and all of those who wished that Lady Justice would have come down more swiftly and harshly on the man accused of attempting to auction-off Barack Obama's old Senate seat, among other alleged corrupt practices. (He now faces up to five years in prison for the one guilty ...

Mehserle, who is white, shot Grant, who was black, in the back at close range as he lay face down on a Bay Area Rapid Transit platform. Following the incident riots erupted in downtown Oakland, Calif. At trial, Mehserle's lawyers argued that their client had mistakenly shot Grant, and had meant to draw his stun gun instead of his pistol. The prosecution had sought a verdict of second-degree murder, claiming that Mehserle had intentionally shot Grant. ...

A jury deliberated three days in federal court in Manhattan before finding Aafia Siddiqui guilty in the third week of her attempted murder trial, which she often interrupted with rambling courtroom outbursts. After declaring the verdict came from Israel, she turned toward spectators in the packed courtroom and said: ...

Shocker! Democrats Find Palin Guilty

UPDATE Statement from the McCain campaign: "Today's report shows that the Governor acted within her proper and lawful authority in the reassignment of Walt Monegan. The report also illustrates what we've known all along: this was a partisan led inquiry run by Obama supporters and the Palins were completely justified in their concern regarding Trooper Wooten given his violent and rogue behavior. Lacking evidence to support the original Monegan allegation, the Legislative Council seriously overreached, making a tortured argument to find fault without basis in law or fact. The Governor is ...

Rezko Verdict: Guilty

The Federal corruption trial of Obama fundraiser Tony Rezko has concluded, the jury finding him guilty on 16 of 24 counts, including influence-peddling and corruption charges. Rezko, of course, made national headlines after the Clinton campaign highlighted his association with Senator Barack Obama, who among other ties, participated in a deal with Rezko in order to purchase a Chicago home.
