The Doctored Economist Cover: We All Live in a Photoshopped Age

In a carefully calibrated lead editorial on the BP oil spill in its June 19 issue, The Economist declared with its usual voice-of-God authority, "Mr. Obama is not the socialist the right claims he is. . . . But his reaction is cementing business leaders' impression that he is indifferent to their concerns." Those are not sentiments likely to send anyone to the barricades.
