ATHENS, Greece (Nov. 16) -- Ultra-right activists waved Greek flags and pelted Muslims with raw eggs as they gathered today in central Athens to pray during the Eid al-Adha festival. Seven other public prayers, including a gathering before the sprawling courtyard of the country's main university, took place without incident. But at Attiki Square, wedged within the sprawl of concrete apartment units in the heart of Athens, violent incidents marked the latest streak of anti-Islam sentiment in the country. Demonstrators circled the square and hostile locals blared music from nearby apartments, ...
(Sept. 21) -- As Congress prepares to re-initiate the stalled immigration reform debate this week, one very personal immigration issue looks poised to hit the president close to home. President Barack Obama's aunt, Zeituni Onyango, says she's done nothing wrong by illegally living in the United States for years and is therefore deserving of amnesty. "If I come as an immigrant, you have the obligation to make me a citizen," Onyango, 58, told Boston's WBZ news. In her first interview since Obama was elected president, Onyango described how she came to America in 2000 from her native Kenya, ...
(July 15) -- I had no idea that a judge could put an injunction on a woman's chest. But that's exactly what's happened in Melbourne, Australia, where the Federal Magistrates' Court has ordered a mother to stop breast-feeding her 6-year-old boy. A 6-year-old still breast-feeding? Well, I can't be too hard on her as a parent... It's one way to keep a kid from talking in the movie theater, and any parent who makes that happen is a Parent of the Year candidate in my book. From Fark: Judge orders woman not to suckle her 6-year old son, issues immediate restraining order on both breasts ...
June 18) -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says the federal government will sue Arizona, challenging the state's tough new immigration law, which gives police power to stop and question anyone they suspect is in the country illegally. Clinton told an Ecuadorean television station earlier this month that the Justice Department, at President Obama's direction, "will be bringing a lawsuit." But she did not say on what grounds the U.S. would do so, and the Justice Department on Thursday declined to confirm that such a case was going forward. ...

As a native Texan who grew up around immigrants and believes they are the hope of our country, I'm appalled by this law. I understand the frustration of Arizonans, but as a nation we need to recognize the war taking place on our southern border. We can't "wish away" organized crime. America had it in the 1930s, and Mexico has it now. It's real, it's powerful, and innocent people are rightfully terrified. America likes to think of itself as a civilized and generous nation. If that's what we are, we should give Mexicans a legal way to immigrate quickly in massive numbers -- with federal help ...
via Katie Couric: Watch CBS Videos Online Hmmm... Do we really believe Obama hasn't been able to get in touch with her? It seems someone has talked to her:Speaking outside her home in Flaherty Way, South Boston, on Tuesday, Ms Onyango, 56, confirmed she was the "Auntie Zeituni" in Mr Obama's memoir. She declined to answer most other questions about her relationship with the presidential contender until after the November 4 election. "I can't talk about it, I just pray for him, that's all," she said, adding: "After the 4th, I can talk to anyone." Who told her she couldn't talk until after the ...
