He viewed his family as his property," Judge Winfried Hetger said. According to ABC News, the defendant, a 48-year-old unemployed truck driver identified only as Detlef S., sat emotionless as he was convicted of 162 counts of sexual abuse. Detlef, a former resident of Fluterschen, was accused of abusing his stepson and stepdaughter starting in 1987, when they were 4 and 6 years old, and continuing until 2010. According to Hetger, Detlef also abused his ...
As a child, I learned how to duck and cover in case of a nuclear attack. My mother told me not to run with scissors, lest I "put out" my eyes. And instructional films, similar to this one, warned me not to walk off with strangers. Why these strangers were coming around in the first place, or what could happen to me if I succumbed to an invitation, I had no idea. Erin Merryn aims to change all that with a simple, memorable phrase: "Get away, tell today." Merryn, who testified before the Illinois Legislature in 2010, states her case eloquently: Currently in the state of Illinois, schools ...
A German truck driver today admitted fathering at least seven children with his stepdaughter but rejected claims that he repeatedly raped the girl, her twin brother and his own biological daughter over more than 20 years of alleged abuse. The man, known only as Detlef S. due to the country's strict privacy laws, is standing trial in the western German city of Koblenz on 350 counts of sexually abusing minors and 35 counts of facilitating child prostitution. The accused -- who was wearing a bright red blazer, jeans and a blue shirt -- sat emotionless as his 21-page indictment was read out, the ...
House Republicans have dropped language from an anti-abortion bill that critics said sounded like an attempt to redefine rape. The offensive phrase, "forcible rape," was used in legislation seeking to permanently ban use of taxpayer funds to pay for abortions. It allows exceptions for pregnancies caused by incest or when the life of the pregnant woman is endangered. The original language also permitted an abortion exception for cases of "forcible rape," which angered women's groups who thought the term suggested some rapes were not forced. The bill was quickly amended to cover all cases of ...
PATERSON, N.J. (Oct. 20) -- A New Jersey man whose apocalyptic visions allegedly led him to rape his five daughters and terrorize his family for years was found guilty Wednesday of sexually assaulting a daughter who testified that she bore him a child. The jury deliberated for less than three hours over two days before finding the man guilty on all of the eight counts in the first of five separate trials - one for each daughter he is accused of victimizing. The man showed no reaction to the verdict, other than keeping his eyes closed for extended periods while several of the counts were ...

(June 7) -- A western Missouri man convicted of murdering one of four children he fathered with his own daughter has been sentenced to life plus 22 years in prison. That same jury convicted Rinehart in April of second-degree murder, second-degree rape, two counts of incest and two counts of abandoning a corpse. (March 12) -- A New Jersey man accused of raping and impregnating his daughters to produce "pure-blooded" offspring directed the music video of the 1996 Fugees hit "Killing Me Softly." Aswad Ayinde, 51, will appear in five trials in New Jersey in the coming months, one for each daughter he is accused of raping beginning in the 1980s, the New York Daily News reports. New Jersey prosecutors say Ayinde, who also goes by the name Eric McGill, fathered six children with his daughters and delivered the babies, two of whom died, himself, according to The Times of London. Authorities referred to him ...
I started out the week reporting on a prominent liberal blogger who crossed the line of decency, and now, an influential conservative blogger has , effectively, evened the score. In what appears to be a warning to any who would oppose GOP superstar Sarah Palin, the Managing Editor of Redstate.com has launched an all-out attack on Levi Johnston:The left was right. Now, though, they can't be bothered by it. Below is the actual Levi - no preppy clothes. No polish. Just good old boy who knocked up the Governor's daughter. Not exactly the image Tyra Banks and he would like you to think about. The ...
