McGahey was a youth-league baseball coach, and his team had traveled from Georgia to Florida for a big tournament. A few kids got caught in the Navarre Beach surf and started yelling for help. ESPN reports that the 13-year-old Canadian's single pushed Vancouver past a team from Germany, 14-13, in the Little League World Series on Wednesday. Officials say it's the first time in the event's history that a girl has had a game-winning hit. Girls have played in the championship tournament for the last 25 years, though the number is small -- only 15, including Reyes. "I was so excited, I was shaking," she said of her final hit.
