Michelle Obama's Daughters Won't Be Logging On to Facebook [VIDEO]

Michelle Obama is just fine with keeping her kids off Facebook. During an appearance on NBC's "Today" show, the first lady said her daughters Sasha, 9, and Malia, 12, are not on the social networking site, and that's not only because of her parental discretion. "I think we are lucky that there are a lot of real constraints, things like Secret Service," she explained. "But I'm not a big fan of young kids having Facebook." Maybe the girls will be on Facebook when they are older, but for now, Michelle says, "it's not necessary." Check out the "Today" appearance in its entirety, ...

Amid Rumors About His Faith, Obama and First Family Attend Church Services

On Sunday, President Obama and the First Lady -- along with daughters Malia and Sasha -- attended 9 a.m. church services at Washington's St. John's Episcopal Church. It marked the sixth time the president has attended services since being elected into office. Of late, the president has found his religious beliefs the subject of much discussion and debate. A poll conducted in mid-August found that one in five Americans mistakenly believe that the president is Muslim. Controversy around the president's comments on the planned Islamic community center and mosque in lower Manhattan served to ...

Move Over, Barack Obama: Sasha and Malia Should Write Their Own Book

It's an official presidential Catch-22. Parents who are politicians face an eternal struggle -- forging a proper path between possibly exploiting their children for votes versus completely shielding them from scrutiny. Barack and Michelle Obama have always stressed that they want their daughters, Malia and Sasha, to have a normal childhood. Well, as normal as two girls can have living in the most famous house in Washington, enjoying vacations on Martha's Vineyard, and meeting celebs like teen heartthrob Justin Bieber. The two first daughters are seldom in the spotlight. Their school events are ...

Is Obama Exploiting His Daughters? Now, Really!

NEW YORK -- As if they didn't have enough on their plate, what with setting the political agenda and overturning establishment candidates, Republican and Democrat, in a good number of primaries, some conservatives with nothing better to do are huffing and puffing again at our beleaguered president. The latest Obama goof? The spirited commentators on the right are accusing President Obama, who is already prematurely gray from so much heave and ho, with exploiting his young daughters to sell his latest book. The girls, Sasha and Malia, and their dog, Bo, are shown bouncing along on the sunny ...

Obamas Sometimes Lift Veil on Daughters' Lives

WASHINGTON (Aug. 31) -- Twelve-year-old Malia Obama wears braces, toots a flute and is after her father to save the tigers. Younger sister Sasha, who is 9, shoots hoops like her basketball-loving dad and dances hip-hop. Both girls get up at 6 a.m. to get ready for school. Barack and Michelle Obama put their girls off-limits to the news media after they moved to the White House, saying they wanted to keep their daughters' lives as normal as possible. But tidbits about the private doings of the youngest children to live in the White House since the Kennedy family do dribble out. Often they ...
