AOL News has a new home! The Huffington Post.
Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily!I posted spectator video, earlier, of the tail end of an altercation between "Media Malpractice" filmmaker John Ziegler and The Daily Beast's Max Blumenthal. Immediately afterward, Ziegler came down to Bloggers' Row to tell us all about it. Being the fair-minded guy that I am, I immediately set out to track down Blumenthal's side of the story. Together, their accounts form a weird, blogtastic version of Rashomon. I will be posting the unabridged versions of what they said later. Tommy on: BlogTalkRadio I Digg! Everyone here is buzzing about this confrontation between Howobamagotelected.com's John Ziegler and The Daily Beast's Max Blumenthal. The audio is tough to make out, but the body language is unmistakable. This was about half an hour ago. I just talked to John, and he explained the confrontation, I will have that video in awhile. This has got to be one of the most bizarre attempts to score points against a politician that I've ever seen. Max Blumenthal at The Daily Beast has the scoop on the sinister origins of Bobby Jindal's first name. He first alludes to it in the subtitle of his article:Bobby Jindal's Secret PastDid you know about the exorcism? The name that came from The Brady Bunch? Those and other surprising facts about one of America's fastest rising young politicians. No way! What name? Was there a cousin Jindal in later seasons? Did Sam the Butcher reveal his last name in a "lost episode?" Blumenthal ...
Do Americans Prefer Ayers and Wright to Limbaugh? That's what Max Blumenthal said at the Daily Beast last week, much to the enduring joy and schadenfreude of the online left. The story made the rounds among the online left, including Media Matters, Alternet, Andrew Sullivan, and even Political Machine, not to mention hundreds of other smaller leftblogs. Daily Beast included it in their morning mass email. It's just exactly the sort of thing a left-blogger loves to hear: not only were Republicans idiots for asking about Ayers, and losers for listening to Limbaugh, but they are lonely outsiders. ...
As I wrote yesterday, the issue that seems relevant in the revelation that Sarah Palin's 17-year-old daughter is pregnant is the question of sex education. Her mother has been quite clear that she's against sex-education in schools, and this belief is shared by social conservatives in the Republican party. While I have no interest in delving into the private life of Palin's daughter, the debate over sex-education is a policy matter, and is entirely appropriate to discuss. And that's precisely what The Nation's Max Blumenthal is doing at the Republican National Convention. Have a look: ...
OK, pretend you didn't read the headline to this story. Now, have a look at the following quote:"So as far as leadership and patriotism goes, I think it's really important that those things have to take place. And I think he's [Obama is] the best Democratic candidate we've had since Bill Clinton. And that's coming from a Democrat."Be honest. Would you have ever, in a million years, attributed it to country music star Toby Keith? The baritone patriot who regularly confuses viewers of "The Colbert Report" is, if you didn't already know, famous for such anthem-like lyrics as:Oh, justice will be ...
