Birthers Blocked: Hawaii Rejects Repeat Requests for Obama Certificate

They are not going to take it anymore. In Hawaii, it's now the law that the state can simply ignore repeated requests for copies of President Obama's birth certificate. Gov. Linda Lingle, a Republican, signed a law Wednesday authorizing government agencies to ditch follow-up requests from so-called birthers, if it's determined their applications are duplicative or almost the same as previous requests, the Associated Press reported. The law is designed to cope with a small group of Americans who are convinced that Obama was not born in Hawaii, as his birth certificate indicates, or anywhere ...

The unfounded, conspiratorial charge that Obama was hiding his birth certificate got a whole lot of people who were already upset at Obama even more upset. Call it the bitter icing ...

The controversy, such as it is, hinges on the circumstances of McCain's birth. The Constitution lays out three eligibility requirements for presidential candidates. A candidate must be at least 35 years old, a resident of the United States for at least 14 years, and must be a "natural-born citizen." McCain qualifies on all three; but some commentators have questioned whether he can be considered to have been natural-born because he was born on a U.S. Navy ...
