NATO Copter Shot Down in Afghanistan, 4 Americans Dead
By Lauren Frayer - AOL News(June 9) -- A NATO helicopter was shot down in southern Afghanistan today, killing four American troops near an area where U.S. military commanders and their allies are reportedly softening plans for an upcoming offensive, beefing up aid outreach instead of military might. The helicopter was brought down by hostile fire in Helmand province, NATO said. It didn't release the names or nationalities of the troops killed, but The Associated Press reported that those killed were Americans. Both U.S. and British troops operate in Helmand.
