Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily! The number of Americans viewing Sarah Palin unfavorably has hit the highest point since she burst onto the national stage over two years ago, according to a poll out Friday. The Gallup survey conducted in the days after the Nov. 2 election found more than half of Americans -- 52 percent -- hold a negative opinion of the former Alaska governor. Only 40 percent viewed her favorably, which ties her lowest score from about a year ago. Palin, the GOP's vice presidential candidate in 2008, is among Republican names being floated as a possible presidential pick in two years time. The poll found ...
The Supreme Court agreed Monday to decide whether states can ban the sale or rental of violent video games to children under 18, The Associated Press reports. The court will review a federal court's decision to throw out a ban passed by the California Legislature and signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger that would also have required strict labeling and levied fines of up to $1,000 on retailers who violated the age requirements. The Supreme Court's decision was unexpected, given that last week it voted, 8-1, to strike down a law banning animal cruelty videos in a case that posed free-speech ...

The ratings are in from President Barack Obama's prime-time news conference last week, and the numbers justify the Fox network's decision to skip broadcasting the president's address. The Fox drama "Lie to Me" drew eight million viewers, outpacing NBC's Obama coverage by over one million viewers. Overall, close to 29 million viewers watched the president on ten channels, including the cable news networks. The total viewership for the news conference was down almost 50% from Obama's first televised news conference, and down nearly 30% from his March event. Fox News did cover the president, and ...

Earlier this month, Mark and Tommy posted stories about an article on Rush's ratings and whether they doubled. At the time I had to agree with Tommy that it was highly suspect that Rush's ratings actually doubled. I thought they had gone up, but when you have twenty million listeners, the law of diminishing returns kicks in.Let's get the claim accurate. According to Talkers magazine earlier this month, Rush's ratings nearly doubled from 14 to 25 million. And now we have some hard numbers rolling in to check the claim. According to The Radio Equalizer, most markets saw a significant increase. ...
It wasn't supposed to happen this way.The Obama Administration and Congressional Democrats have been pursuing a strategy of tying elected Republicans to Rush Limbaugh, concocted in hopes of painting Republican opposition to the Administration's policy proposals as extremist. And while the questions posed to Republicans by willing Democratic allies in the media may have made some of them uncomfortable, they have also served as a boon to Limbaugh's ratings. The conservative radio host, and liberal scourge, reports that his ratings have nearly doubled since Democrats began their campaign to ...
