Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily!Did a North Carolina man capture video of the elusive Bigfoot? Or does the short, blurry sequence show a gorilla-suited hoaxer? Thomas Byers of Shelby contacted WCNC NewsChannel 36 in Charlotte, claiming he videotaped a 7-foot-tall, 300-pound, six-toed Bigfoot, from a distance of 15 to 20 feet away, walking across a local road in Rutherford County on Tuesday evening. "It ran across the road and into the woods right in front of us, and I was able to film it," Byers e-mailed the news station. "In the short video you can hear it snarl or growl at me." According to Byers' account of the ...

Monsters: They lurk in our fears, our imaginations, and sometimes, in our lakes and forests. Sea serpents; tall, hairy creatures; unicorns; blood-sucking doglike animals -- they've all been in the news this year. They're either real, myth or simply new and previously unknown beasts that share the world with humans and come under the category of cryptozoology: the study of hidden or unknown animals. Here's a look back at some of the more interesting cryptozoology stories that we covered in 2010. Lake Monsters & Sea Serpents Keystone / Getty Images This 1934 photo of the Loch Ness ...
(Oct. 11) -- UFOs aren't the only weird things making headlines in China these days. Now we have Bigfoot, or its Chinese cousin, Yeren. Scientists are preparing to trek into the remote Shennongjia forest region of China's Hubei province to search for that country's version of the hairy ape-man creature dubbed Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti and the Abominable Snowman in other areas of the world. And if you've got a little over a million dollars to spare, that's about what this expedition will cost to find (or not) Mr. Yeren. AP This 1977 still photo from a 16 mm film made by Ivan Marx ...
A North Carolina man is making national headlines after alleging that he spotted a 10-foot, bearded beast on his property last week. The sighting of the creature, whose been dubbed "Blond Bigfoot," apparently occurred late at night on the rural mountain property of Tim Peeler. AOL News has the exclusive audio of Peeler's 6-minute phone conversation with a 911 operator. "It looked like a giant ape, with a man's face," he's heard telling the operator. "I just wanted y'all to know, I have not shot anyone of 'em." After several minutes of back-and-forth, in which Peeler describes the beast's ...
(June 16) -- A 10-foot-tall, totally hairy trespasser on your property isn't the norm. Unless it's Bigfoot. Well, that's what Tim Peeler claims he chased away from his North Carolina mountain house last week. Peeler told NewsChannel36 in Charlotte that he first heard unusual grunting and screeching outside his home. When he investigated the sounds, he said, he got close enough to the unwelcome intruder to poke it with a stick. "The thing was 10 feet tall with beautiful hair, yellowish hair, and a yellow beard," the mountain man recalled. ...
Gonzaga was Cinderella once. It's been too good for too long to wear that particular dress now, but by late Friday night it was the closest thing this tournament had left. Once Louisville destroyed Arizona in the night's first game, the Zags, a four, were the highest seed left in the field. And then they were promptly dismantled by a very healthy-looking Ty Lawson and North Carolina. If Lawson's toe is all better and he can play like this, there may be nothing anybody can do. Remember back in the early part of this season, when North Carolina looked head-and-shoulders better than everybody else ...
Apparently, you can make this stuff up.The Weekly World News is reporting that, shortly before her nomination as GOP Vice Presidential candidate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin successfully completed an aerial assault on Bigfoot:A government helicopter was seen flying low over the Chugach National Park with what witnesses described as "a sexy librarian shooting out the side." Employees at a local bait shop report seeing a similar woman only hours before carrying an infant in a camouflage Baby Bjorn. The Bigfoot, or Sasquatch as it is known in scientific circles, was found dead on the outskirts of ...
