In the hours after Stephen Tyrone Johns was gunned down at the U.S. Holocaust Museum last week, his wife of just a year, Zakiah Johns, cried to her pastor over and over, "Pastor, I just want my husband back." Today, Johns' 39-year-old husband was laid to rest in a private ceremony, following a public memorial service that included a lengthy police escort, a 19-flag honor guard, crowds of photographers and more than 500 mourners who gathered to remember him. Congress Stops to Honor Slain Holocaust Museum Officer

One day after Officer Stephen Johns was shot to death at his post at the Holocaust Museum, members of Congress stopped business on the floor of the House of Representatives to honor him.In a somber procession, members spoke one after another to pay tribute to the "soft-spoken, gentle giant" who died in the line of duty. Reports said that Johns opened the museum's door for an elderly man, identified as James W. von Brunn, an 88-year-old white supremacist.
