Charlie Melancon by 52 percent to 36 percent with 4 percent preferring some other candidate and 8 percent undecided, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted April 7. In March, Vitter's margin had been 57 percent to 34 percent. Vitter is seen favorably by 60 percent of voters and unfavorably by 37 percent, with 4 percent not sure. Melancon, who has served three terms in the House, is seen favorably by 46 percent and unfavorably by 41 percent, but 13 percent do not know enough about him to be sure of their opinion. Vitter ...
