(Oct. 20) -- Let's get one thing straight right away: The Boston Tea Party took place on Dec. 16, 1773. Opposing pundits across the blogosphere have been bickering over comments made by Sarah Palin at a rally on Monday in Reno, Nev. Palin told a crowd of tea party supporters that they shouldn't "party like it's 1773" because there is still much work to be done between now and the November elections. National Tea Party Convention Canceled

After being rescheduled this summer, the National Tea Party Unity Convention planned for next month in Las Vegas has been canceled. Barbee Kinnison, one of the organizers, sent an e-mail Friday to supporters saying it was with "deep sorrow" that she had to announce "the convention is just not going to happen," The New York Times reported. The event was to be sponsored by Tea Party Nation, a social networking site with the goal of bringing together the disparate grassroots conservative groups popping up across the country. (Sept. 20) -- What happens in Vegas ... well, never mind. A prominent tea party group has abruptly canceled its plans to hold a convention in Las Vegas that was to begin Oct. 14, Washington Monthly and TPM report. Billed as the National Tea Party Unity convention, the event was sponsored by the Tea Party Nation, was to be held at the Mirage Hotel & Casino and was to feature such prominent speakers as Sharron Angle, Andrew Breitbart and Lou Dobbs. Second Tea Party Convention Postponed Until Fall

With just over two weeks to go before a planned Tea Party convention in Las Vegas, organizers have postponed the event, citing poor planning and the summer heat in Nevada for disappointing registration numbers. In an e-mail to supporters, Tea Party Nation leaders said the "unity" convention planned for July 15-17 would be rescheduled for fall, but new dates were not announced.
