Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily! Many polls have painted a rosy picture for Republican prospects in the November elections, and now the GOP's chances also appear to be boosted by new data from this year's primaries. An American University study released Tuesday finds that the average statewide turnout by Republicans in primary contests topped that of the Democrats for the first time since 1930. Four million more votes were cast by GOP voters than by Democratic ones. Democratic primary turnout, as a percent of the eligible electorate, was the lowest ever recorded during a midterm election, the researchers said. "Given the ...
(Feb. 10) -- As Democrats continue to absorb the shock of Scott Brown's Senate victory in Massachusetts, they do have at least one silver lining to enjoy: advance notice. The question is whether they will take advantage of it and stop a 2010 tidal wave from sweeping them out of power. In the last two game-changing elections -- 1994, when the Democrats lost both houses of Congress, and 2006, when the Republicans lost control -- the results were a surprise. It was only in the last few months before the elections that the parties realized the serious trouble they were in. This year, the ...

It's Election Day, 2008. Today you have to decide, once and for all, what you want America to do over the next four years. Despite the propagandizing from the left, both sides represent a significant change from George Bush, be it for ill or good. When you go to the polling locations, you'll be bombarded by last ditch pitches. You'll be given handouts and lists. By all means, vote your conscience or your party. It's your vote. Just think about some things while you are there, a pro/con list if you will. 1. A stable, relatively peaceful middle east benefits the whole world. It is in the ...
From Jake Tapper: CHICAGO, Ill. -- Among the other voters who have shown up to vote at Shoesmith Elementary School this morning, where Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., will vote: Louis Farrakhan and William Ayers. Who cares? People who barely stay awake in church themselves, but suddenly care what someone ...
